In the tourism industry of India
religious tourism is playing all important role
especially with the high interest of domestic travelers
and overseas Indians. Since the ancient times India is
considered at the top of world leaders of spirituality.

Ajmer city of Indian state Rajasthan is considered as
the Madina of India due to presence of shrine of Sufi
saint Moinuddin Chisti, where as the cities such as
Mount Abu and many other cities from Gujarat & Rajasthan
are famous for Jain temples. Amritsar, Nanded are the
pilgrimage cities for the worldwide Sikh community.
Bodhgaya, Nalanda and Sarnath are the famous travel
destinations of Buddhist pilgrimage in India.
For the Hindus there is a long list of scared cities and
places such as Vaishno Devi, Amarnath, Kedarnath,
Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Allahabad, Haridwar,
Ujjain, Nasik, Bhubaneshwar and Rameshwaram etc. Hindu
temples in the south India have a different architecture
style, Dravidian, in compare to temples in the other
parts of the country.
