city Simala / Shimala is the famous ice fall
destination and only location with natural ice
skating in the country and famous as most popular
honeymoon and summer holiday destination in the
north India. Simala the city of Wooden craft, cool
refreshing air, hills and ridges is often
pronounced as the Summer Capital city among the
world travelers. There is an ancient temple of
Goddess Kali on the Jakhu hills on which city is
located and Shyamala is another name of Goddess
Kali from this place become famous as Simala or
Shimala. Amazingly spectacular hill resort Shimala
is the place of very dense [almost impenetrable]
forest of oak and pine and famous for fur and
rhododendron. The city is surrounded by seven
hills and people are used to call Shimala, Queen
of Hills. Simala is the place, can be visited
round the year to have glimpses of different
seasonal colors of nature. Mountain train journey
of about 6 hours between Kalka and Shimala is an
