dominating place which was developed into hill
resort or summer holiday destination under the
plans of Gujarat Tourism corporation. Saputara has
great historic importance as Lord Rama spent 11
years of his exile in these very forests. Saputara
means abode of serpents. This quite small but
highly scenic hill resort Saputara is situated on
the banks of the river Sarpagana in the deciduous
forests with dense bamboo plantation on the
Sahyadiri range of Western Ghat. Being a planned
hill resort there are excellent facilities for the
