Kozhikode is famous coastal city from God's own
land Kerala, the Kappad sea shore where Vasco Da
Gama was landed [1498] is very close to this
historic Malabar region city. Since the ancient
times Kozhikode city is known as the domestic and
international trade center, over the years city
has not only kept this fame but also developed as
one of spectacular travel destination of south
India. Pepper, Coconut, Coffee, Rubber, Lemon

historic city, being the capital of powerful
Zamorins, was the home of Calico [soft printed
cotton] and from this got name Kalicut or Calicut
as one may spell. Present name Kozhikode is
originated from Malayalam word Koyil Kotta meaning
fortified land. V. K. Krishna Menon & P.T. Usha
are on the list of personalities glorified the
city of Kozhikode. Native people have an unmatched
