Boddhgaya is among the four most sacred cities of Buddhism. History of Buddhism started way back to 500 BC with the enlightenment of Prince Siddhartha here under the scared banyan tree, most popularly called Mahaboddhi tree. Two month long meditation course offered by The Tibetan monastery is also an attraction for the international Buddhist community.
