Know About splendid and eventful tour of Religious City (Char Dham Yatra) Badrinath

Badrinath is one of most scared cities in India and one of the four destinations of Char Dham Yatra, pilgrimage of utmost religious importance for Hindus. This holly city is situated on the banks of river Alaknanda between two mountains Nar and Narain at the altitude of 3313 meters from the sea level. Present black stone 15 meter tall conical shaped temple was constructed about two centuries back by Garhwal Kings. Temple have idol of Vishnu seated in a meditative pose and three parts Garbha Grah , Darshan Mandap and Sabha Mandap. This is believed that a few constructional changes were made by Adi Shankaracharya. According to Bhagvat Puran God Vishnu is present here at Badrinath as Nar Narayan (Man and God).
