is the first zoo established [1855] in India and
since 1979 shifted to place isolated from the
Reserved Forests of Vandalur. Anna
Zoological Park is considered as the one of the
biggest in South East Asia and accommodate more
than 170 species of mammals, aviaries and
reptiles. The most impressive thing of Anna
zoological park is description of wildlife
available on the spot for the visitors. Nocturnal
Animal House, Butterfly Houses, Zoo School,
Reptile Enclosures, Childrens Park and Otteri Lake
are some of the must visited places of Anna
Zoological Park. Tuesday is weekly holiday for the
Anna Zoological park which remains open from 8.30
am to 5.30 pm. There is nominal entrance charge
