Amritsar is the most scared
city of Sikhism, The living God Dhan Sri Guru
Granth Sahib were installed here at Golden Temple,
one of most fascinating architecture of the world,
build in the year 1604. Word Amritsar is derived
from two words Amrit [Nectar] and sarovar [Lake],
this sarovar was constructed by fifth Sikh Guru,
Ramdas Sahib in 1574. Amritsar is one among the
five cities of Akal Kakhat [Eternal Throne].
Beside being the city of Sikhism, Amritsar have a
great importance in the modern history of India.
The famous Jallianwala bagh, where few hundred
innocent Indians were killed by British army
during the British rule, is part of
Amritsar city. Amritsar have many other Gurudwara
along with Harmandir Sahib [Golden Temple], city
also have a spectacular Laxminarayan temple,
popularly known as Durgiana Temple. International
border line Wagha, with Pakistan is about 20 km
from the city. Valmiki Ashram, the place where
Love & Kush [sons of Lord Shri Ram] were born
[Ramayana era] is located very close to Amritsar
